Roger Maris was a professional baseball player who played for the New York Yankees and other teams during his career. He is best known for breaking Babe Ruth's single-season home run record in 1961 by hitting 61 home runs in a single season. He won two American League Most Valuable Player awards during his career and was a seven-time All-Star.

Maris would be a very unusual selection for the Hall of Fame. He does not have the career milestones, and his short peak, while very good, was not excellent. He doesn’t really have a long peak either. His best argument comes from his two MVP awards and for breaking Babe Ruth’s single-season home run record. However, he has been on the Golden Days Era Ballot for Baseball Hall of Fame consideration.

In conclusion, Roger Maris is not in the Hall of Fame but he has been considered for it.
